BoE holds interest rates steady at 0.25%

The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee has opted to keep interest rates pegged at 0.25% and continue its quantitative-easing scheme. However, the central bank warned of a possible inflation rise and slower wage growth in 2017 and said policy could change “in either direction” in response to unfolding events as uncertainty continues to surround the UK’s departure from the EU.
