Brazil’s central bank voted unanimously to reduce its benchmark interest rate from 14.25% to 14%, the first drop in four years. “The committee considers that the convergence of inflation toward the target in 2017 and 2018 is compatible with a moderate and gradual easing of monetary conditions,” according to the central bank.
