(NASDAQ:SINA) Tencent (OTCPK:TCEHY), Sohu.com (NASDAQ:SOHU) and NetEase (NASDAQ:NTES) to stop original news reporting, tightening its grip over the country’s web and information industries. President Xi Jinping has stressed that Chinese media must serve the interests of the ruling Communist Party, giving authorities near-absolute control over online news.
