In addition to Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) and Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) YouTube platform, it apparently also involves Facebook’s (NASDAQ:FB) Instagram and WhatsApp properties. Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Skype has also been hit.
These sorts of outages aren’t necessarily rare for these companies, particularly the social media players. Although, it does seem odd for the messaging services to go down.
According the site, TurkeyBlocks:
“The incident is believed to be related to the detention of multiple leaders of opposition political party HDP, accompanied by raids of the HDP headquarters in Ankara.”
