The world’s biggest manufacturer of personal computers, China’s Lenovo Group, reported that profit shot up 64%, to $173 million, for the quarter ended in June, outstripping the $130.1 million average of forecasts by analysts Reuters polled. Strong sales of PCs more than made up for weakening smartphone demand, Chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing said.
