Valerie Szczepanik, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s distributed-ledger working group, says the agency is getting more involved with emerging blockchain technology and how it affects the industry. “It should signify to the industry that we are seriously looking at these areas … [and] we are studying the regulatory issues,” Szczepanik said.
