Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and other tech leaders have announced a $1 billion investment to research and develop clean energy technology. Gates has stressed a need to generate reliable, affordable energy that does not emit greenhouse gases, in line with goals of the Paris climate change agreement of 2015.
