Plentiful monsoon rains that have improved the outlook for India’s vast agricultural sector should lift overall growth this year to 8%, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das said. Das also cited recently introduced structural reforms whose effects should soon begin to feed into the economy.
