The performance of venture capital and private equity funds topped the returns from public equity in 2015, according to a report from Cambridge Associates. Average returns last year were 12.9% for venture capital and 5.9% for private equity, compared with 5.7% for the Nasdaq and 1.4% for the Standard & Poor’s 500 index, the report said.
