Verizon Communications says its $2.4 billion acquisition of GPS vehicle-tracking company Fleetmatics Group will accelerate its entry into fleet management and the connected-vehicle business. The transaction price of $60 a share is about a 40% premium to Fleetmatics’ closing price Friday.
