Google has purchased API.ai, a startup that equips more than 60,000 developers with tools to improve speech recognition and natural language understanding in apps. API.ai’s products are used to “build conversational experiences, for environments such as Slack, Facebook Messenger and Kik,” Google’s Scott Huffman wrote in a blog post.
